Shitty mission statement advice with Tess Ball

In this solo episode, we examine the top mission statement advice offered by Google. I’ll rate the following advice on “Shittiness” scale of 1-10 and we’ll give it a little context!

Top takeaways:

  • If your mission statement doesn’t make your daily life easier, it’s not really working.

  • Keep it short, sweet, clear & concise. If it’s too long or wordy, you won’t be able to recall it easily.

  • You mission statement should provide a loose framework, within which you can create, play and expand.

  • I like to create a mission for 3 years into the future and review it annually.

  • Your mission statement can and should inform who you hire.

  • It should permeate every area of your business. You mission is foundational.
